DIY Shower Cleaner

Hello! Today I bring to you a tride-and-true DIY from my mom. My mom hates using strong cleaning products full of harsh and toxic chemicals. For the past year or so, she has found a easy alternative to keeping mildew out of our bathroom! Keep reading to learn about a simple DIY cleaning routine that is no cost, sustainable and hygienic!

The shower in my house is beautiful; it is tiled and enclosed by a glass door (with a convenient rod to hang a towel or two). However, with the bathroom being the least ventilated place in the house, it is difficult to keep it clean without using chemicals...or so we thought! Instead of a day of laborious cleaning, we add a simple step to the end of our shower routine. After a shower we take a worn out towel and wipe the entire shower dry. This reduces the still water that remains on the walls and floor hours after a shower. A moist environment is a prime environment for the growth of mildew so this method keeps the shower dry and the funk out!

Supplies:
Old/worn-out towel

Steps:

1. After your shower, take a worn-out towel and simply wipe your shower dry!

2. Depending on how often you do a load of laundry either toss the wet towel into the washer or hang it to dry for the next use.

Disclaimer: We do use chemicals to clean the shower every now then but this method has proven to be a hygienic, healthy and sustainable way to keep the mildew out on a daily basis.
